Resist Dopamine
A lone tree in a misty field at dawn

About.

The name

Dopamine isn’t the reward. It’s the anticipation: the wanting before the getting, the itch to check, the pull right before the scroll. That’s the lever every feed pulls, all day, on purpose.

You can’t quit that. Wanting is how you’re wired. What you can do is resist it: notice the pull, hold still on purpose, and take back a little time to think. Not a detox. A detox ends. This doesn’t.

The center

In 1994, Fred Rogers told Charlie Rose he was concerned that our society is much more interested in information than wonder, in noise rather than silence. Then he asked the question this whole brand tries to answer: how do we encourage reflection?

That’s the trick of the two words. They look hardcore. What they’re actually asking for is wonder, silence, and time to think.

What this is

A daily practice called The Resist: sixty seconds against the interface, once a day, the same round for everyone. Hats that carry the reminder in white thread. And a website that refuses to behave like the internet: nothing scrolls on the front page, nothing is urgent, nothing counts your streaks.
